Love the composition and angle... and the light! Makes me want to sit in there listening to the storm sneaking up.
:iconuglyrat:
Perfect title. The lighting and angle are spectacular, this has been my desktop background for a week. :)
:iconwynterforde:
lol, you are gettin' them leet advance copies of my deviations eh?
:icontetsuogz:
Ominous indeed. Looks like a Mad Scientist Laboratory with the green lights and the dark sky. All you'd need is lightening Brewing.

Very pretty tho. The Arcetecture is great.

I love this...clouds, storminess, clean lighting and lines with cool architecture at night...the green of the building's internal lighting, letting you see inside a little, with subtle flaring on the bright areas is a great feature. Superb! :+fav:

I have a quick technical question or two, if you don't mind: I'm potentially interested in a 10D...what lens did you use for this shot? And second, to what did you set the white balance for this? TIA :)
:iconwynterforde:
The lens used was the Canon 28-135 IS... A beautiful lens

Check out my gallery, most of the shots inside are taken with it.. The only other lens used is a Canon 50mm MkII (which I also greatly recommend, especially due to the $70 price), and I mention which I use in all of them I think.

I used a tripod in this shot, but a lot of others, such as Escape, Peaks, Cocktails, and several other minimal available light shots are taken with this lens and no tripod or support at all. The crisp focus IS manages to attain in such low light and slow shutter speeds is amazing. Since using it, I've decided that all new long lenses I purchase will have to be with IS.

Oh, almost forgot about white balance.. Uh, I think it is on custom on this one.. I usually have it on custom.

If you have any other questions on any of my other deviations, feel free to ask

And thank you for the comment :D
:iconundefinedone:
Thanks for the info...I'd been looking at that lens as a good starter (read: non-L, read also: affordable :P) and have read mixed reviews of it, but I think this proves it's quite good. :D

But then, all of this is just me dreaming, at least for the time being.

About the white balance, actually, I kind of meant what did you sample for a custom white balance, since I assumed you used one for a shot like this. :P

I've already perused your gallery in the past...before I signed up for DA. You're going on my watchlist when I finally get around to adding everyone...I'm wanting to do it "properly" and leave some well-deserved comments at the same time, like I mentioned in my DA journal. I'm also being a little anal and wanting to add people in the order I found them. me = a little crazy, bear with

You're quite welcome for the comment...this image, and really, your work in general certainly deserves it!
:iconwynterforde:
Ahh...

Well, to be honest I forget if I even calibrated white balance that night.. Usually I use a 50% gray card... Sometimes I just start shooting :D
